Angela is Dorset House's manager. She is the one to look out for, as she is in charge weekdays 9am-6pm. She has been working in tourism around Christchurch for over 4 years, so is the best person to answer any queries! Angela also knows heaps about what you can get up to in Christchurch while you are here, and can make bookings for you at reception.

Denise works here at Dorset House on the rental-property side of things, having had lots of experience in Finance and Real Estate. She lives in Christchurch with her husband and their two beautiful German Shepherds. You'll find her in the hostel in the mornings, and filling in at reception various other times during the day too. Denise also fills in for Angela now and then.

Michelle is one of the owners of Dorset House. She conducts mostly behind the scenes work, although you will see her about at various times throughout the day.

Reuben handles the website, and handles lots of tech questions. He would much rather be surfing or snowboarding than working and knows the area well. If you want to know where the best spots are in Canterbury, Reuben is the one to ask.

Helen is the wonderful gardener here at Dorset House, and you may see her about pruning roses, maintaining the various plants in the garden. She creates the beautiful green backdrop that surrounds Dorset House and is proud of her 100% organic garden. We love the garden at Dorset House and it is particular stunning in the summer months - setting off our lovely old building to best advantage.

Around Dorset House you may spot a gray cat.
Minx is a smokey grey colour, she is a snob who only wants pats on the head and then only when it suits her - that’s cats for you! Minx also likes hanging out at reception - but only in the back of the stationery cupboard. She is also known for her skill at catching birds, which, please note, we do not support at Dorset House.
