Welcome to Dorset House. Steeped in history and situated next to beautiful Hagley Park, Dorset House backpackers hostel provides comfortable budget accommodation in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Refurbished in 2006 without losing its essential character and elegant amosphere, Dorset House is a boutique backpackers hostel in a historic character building. It is a unique and relaxing environment from which to enjoy all that Christchurch has to offer. Our 15 guest rooms offer delightful budget accommodation, with a wide range of guest facilities, travel bookings and other tourist services available within the hostel.  Free WiFi is available. Just ask at reception for your free WiFi access voucher.

Located in the heart of the city and close to airport and public transport links, your ability to explore the attractions and sights of Christchurch, "The Garden City", is unlimited. Step outside and you are just minutes away from popular local attractions such as the Arts Centre, Botanic Gardens and Cathedral Square. Or make the most of the boutique shopping, lazy cafe lunches and excellent coffee on Victoria St, just two minutes away. Dorset Apartments Accommodation

Prefer affordable self-catered accommodation?  We have a range of affordable self-contained apartment accommodation available at Dorset Apartments. Located in either our Peterborough St City property, (open all year around) or our Bishop St, St Albans property (open summer only) there are a range of fully furnished one and two bedroom holiday apartments available.

Stay in either a 1920's character house, which a short walk from Dorset House and right in the city centre, or choose our St Albans property just 5 minutes by car from the city. These fully-equipped and affordable holiday apartments sleep up to six, and are ideal for groups or families.

Dorset Apartments are open all year around (City location). Our St Albans property is available from October until April each year. Infant cots and high chairs are available, and sturdy rollaway beds can be provided for extra guests if required. All apartments have fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, washing machines and a TV lounge with DVD player. WiFi internet is available through the Zenbu network, at very low cost.
